The route of the Tour de Suisse and consequently the Tour de Suisse Challenge 2022 is decided. Over 1,300 kilometres will be covered in eight days. Participants will be supported by four Road Coaches, who all have experience with tours over such distances.

A Challenging Route

Spring and the Cycling Classics are just around the corner. Pleasant temperatures and cycling on TV whet the appetite for more. In keeping with this, the Tour de Suisse presents the route for the 2022 edition. A route that reflects the topography of Switzerland – it is never just flat! This presents a real test for the participants of the Tour de Suisse Challenge 2022. Those who are confident enough to complete all eight stages will cover more than 1,300 kilometres and climb a good 1,000 metres in altitude. Along with these demands, the route will have a few treats in store. Every linguistic region of the country will be covered, and with the Nufenen and Lukmanier, two beautiful Alpine passes await.

Four Professional Road Coaches

Should participants run out of steam or require extra motivation during a stage, four Road Coaches are on hand to keep them going. As in the previous year, they will accompany the participants on the stages as guides. Road Coaches Sandro Muhl and Lukas Winterberg return from the premiere year 2021. “It was impressive what the participants achieved last year. I am really looking forward to this second edition,” says Winterberg. Michael Alborn and Lukas Spengler join the team this year. The former rode the “Fixie” to the North Cape in 2019 and the latter won the U23 Paris-Roubaix and was a Pro until 2019. Naturally all four not only have tips & tricks in store, but also one or two exciting stories to share.

Limited Starting Places Remain

A demanding route and four dynamic Road Coaches will make the Tour de Suisse Challenge from 12th – 19th June 2022 a highlight in the cycling calendar. Anyone still wishing to secure one of the last starting places should do so before the registration deadline on Sunday 3rd April. A week in the circus of the Tour de Suisse, up close to the Pros, is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience.
